Exposome Network
The European Human Exposome Network is the world’s largest network of projects studying the impact of environmental exposure on human health.
The Network consists of 9 cross-European research projects looking to understand the effects chemicals, noise, air quality, urban environment etc. on common and prevalent non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, immunological diseases, respiratory diseases etc.
The network has received more than 100 million euros from EU’s Horizon 2020 programme on research and innovation.
With a comprehensive approach to environmental disease factors, rather than a one-exposure-one-disease approach, the network aims to find cost-effective preventive actions to fighting non-communicable disease.
